A barbershop is organising an afternoon of festive fun as a way of giving back to the community.  

Cutting Edge Barbers in Hall Lane, Chingford, will hosting a free Carribean-style Christmas lunch at the shop on Christmas Eve.

Customers, clients, and passers-by will also be invited to free drinks and half-price haircuts from midday, and there will be goody-bags filled with festive treats for children.

Manager Frankie Maxwell, 38, decided to hold the event  as he felt it was neccessary to share his appreciation.

He said: "No-one along here is doing much to give back to the community, there are plenty of fast-food outlets and not any places that sells traditional Caribbean food.

"This is the first time we have done anything like this, and we wanted to show our appreciation for all the custom and trade we've had since we opened earlier this year."

There will also be free goody-bags for children,
