Storms have swept through the district causing damage to cars and obstructing roads with debris and flood water.
Flooding is still affecting Epping New Road at the Robin Hood roundabout as well as stretches of the A414 in Ongar and Stondon Road, where a man was reportedly stranded for over an hour his car this morning.
A total of 16 storm related incidents were reported to police overnight, including two cars being crushed by trees in Brook Road, Epping, and a van surrounded by three feet of water in Coopersale Lane, Epping.
Trees were also downed in Baldocks Road in Theydon Bois; Bumbles Green in Nazeing; Crooked Mile and Horshoe Hill in Waltham Abbey; Debden Road, Lambourne Road and Willingale Road in Loughton and Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood.
Epping Forest Neighbourhood Inspector, Andy Fusher, said: “Hats off to the emergency services, council workers and residents who have helped clear the debris.
“Thankfully there hasn’t been too much lasting disruption.”
