A flood alert was issued this morning for the Lower Lee Tributaries after river levels began to rise last night.
Up to 15mm of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours which could cause possible flooding around Ching Brook, near Chingford, Cobbins Brook, near Waltham Abbey, and Trinity Marsh Ditch, near Waltham Cross.
The Met Office expected between 20 to 30mm of rain to fall in the area.
Water levels are now starting to return to normal although a flood alert is still in place, although some isolated showers are expected this afternoon.
