East London and West Essex Guardian Series: The motorist ventures out of his vehicle The motorist ventures out of his vehicle

A stranded motorist has been towed to safety.

A man who drove his Mercedes into a foot of flood water had to wait over an hour to be returned to dry land.

Emergency services were notified and were able to give the man a tow.

The motorist was uninjured but did suffer a long delay to his journey and wet feet to boot.

Drivers are being warned not to venture into flood waters more than 30cm deep and to take extra care on the roads.

most likely Abridge Road A113 between Abridge and going east to the roundabout - River Roding is almost on the road and it always floods there. Don't know why they do not deal with it as it is rather an essential road.

Only a fool would have gone through there as it is a recurring problem. He was probably bragging to his mates that his 4x4 Mercedes would sail through anything and then was left there holding his Christmas walnuts after he drove through to fast shorting the electrics.

I hope the emergency services send him a large bill for wasting their time.

What do you want to know for? You want to ride through it as well despite the warnings?

LOL @ Christmas walnuts, someone like you eh.

As you said he should have got a Land Rover, they seemed to have gone through compared to his M class Merc.
