Pair fined for dumping rubbish near their home

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Residents fined for dumping rubbish Residents fined for dumping rubbish

Two flytippers have been fined for dumping waste on the estate where they live.

Marius Iorga, of Springfield Court in Forsythia Close, Ilford, and David Gheorge, 18, of the same address, were found guilty of fly-tipping at Romford Magistrates Court.

They were both fined £200 and ordered to each pay costs of £288 and a £20 victim surcharge after police witnesssed them empyting piles of wood and cupboard panels from a white van in the estate's car park on May 17.

The pair did not attend Romford Magistrates Court and were convicted in their absence earlier this month.

More this to come from our European Family Members enriching the country.

They buy an old van, go round collecting scrap and rubbish, sell the scrap, charge for removing rubbish, then fly tip, hardly ever caught. Do not have a Trade Waste Licence, inadequate insurance and get away with it time and time again.

No police about to pull them up, it is a disgrace.

Convicted in their absence? So that means they have no intention of paying the fine, they will probably have moved from their known addresses, will be untraceable and will continue their fly tipping from new premises.

There is a significant problem with junk collectors of all hues, including the native variety, fly-tipping across the borough and it is not confined to east europeans only. It will be interesting to see if the authorities pursue the culprits for the fines. It is also notable that it was a police patrol that spotted them and not any official council activity.
