A man has been charged in connection with the Chigwell stabbing of a teen.

Marcus Audain, 20, of no fixed address, was charged on Friday with wounding the 16-year-old boy with intent.

Audian appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 17.

The incident took place on December 9 when the boy, from Plaistow in East London, was found on a grass verge at the junction of Limes Avenue and Westmede in Chigwell shortly before 9pm.

He had suffered a stab wound to his leg. Police have said he remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A 17-year-old boy from Walthamstow and a 20 year-old man from Ilford remain on police bail until later this month, pending further enquiries.
