A care home worker has shaved her head to raise money for dementia sufferers.
Alexis Barrett, of Newmans Lane in Loughton, chopped off her locks on Boxing Day and raised £1,220 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Miss Barrett, 26, looks after dementia sufferers at Loughton Hall in Rectory Lane, Loughton.
She chose to raise the money for them and her grandmother, who was diagnosed with the condition in 2012.
Miss Barrett said: “I’m really pleased to raise so much. I was initially only hoping for £1,000.”
“I quite like my new look and friends have said I should keep it."
