Football manager Harry Redknapp has pledged his support to a children’s charity by becoming its newest patron.

The Queens Park Rangers boss agreed to work with The Dream Factory after meeting founder Avril Mills and her son Josh, who was being awarded for his work with the charity.

Mrs Mills, from Epping, set up the charity five years ago following the death of her son Oliver previously met Redknapp when he helped make a dream come true for a boy who had lunch with Redknapp and met the Tottenham Hotspur players at the club's former Chigwell training ground.

The charity has so far made some 250 dreams come true for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions.

Mrs Mills said: “It was a pleasure to meet Harry at the school awards evening and to have a chance to highlight the marvellous work that The Dream Factory is doing.

“I’m delighted Harry has agreed to become a patron and we look forward to working with him in the future.”

Mr Redknapp has pledged to help with football related dreams.
