A date has been set for the next court appearance of a man accused of attacking a 51-year-old whose eye was removed as a result of his injuries.

Ashton King, 21, of Boundary Road in Walthamstow, is accused of attacking a the man in McDonald’s restaurant in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, on New Year’s Day.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Thames Magistrates Court yesterday and will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 20.

He was charged on January 6 with wounding with intent, handling stolen goods and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Kingsley Gordon-Allen, 20, of Ashville Road in Leytonstone, has been charged with wounding with intent and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 17.
