Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with street stabbing in Chingford Road, Walthamstow.

Police have arrested a second man in connection with a street stabbing.

A 17-year-old was arrested last Thursday and bailed until mid February over the attack on a 39-year-old man who was stabbed in the side while walking in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, at just after 9pm on December 29.

He staggered into the nearby Food Centre shop and pleaded for help moments after being attacked. 

The injured man, who is believed to live locally, was treated at the scene for a knife wound and taken by ambulance to hospital.   

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.

On December 30, an 18 year-old man was arrested and bailed until mid January pending further enquiries.
