A teenager will appear on BBC1 talent show The Voice.
Ryan Green, 17, who lives in Copthorne Avenue, Ilford, was spotted in August by producers from the show at an open mic night in Hornchurch and invited to audition.
The former West Hatch High School pupil said: “Everyone was so nice and it was amazing to get a chance to go on the show.
“My family and friends have all been really supportive and we are going to sit down together tomorrow night and watch it.
“It was such a surreal experience and I have learnt so much – from vocal coaching to media counselling.
“That is what is so great about these shows, they are such a great experience.
“I have been performing now for about six years and am influenced by a lot of Jim Morrison – I also listen to a lot of RnB.”
Series three of The Voice starts tomorrow on BBC1 at 7.00pm.
