Special ‘ice skates’ invented by a Chingford entrepreneur who turned down £100,000 from the Dragon’s Den will feature on ITV's Jonathan Ross show tomorrow night.
The 'off ice-skates' launched in 2009 by Karen O’Neill, of Queens Grove Road in Chingford, and Karen Coombes, from south London, will be used by Olympic ice-skaters Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean to give the TV host a dance lesson.
The ice-skating champions will use the skates to perform a special routine set to the Bolero - the dance routine that won them gold at the Olympics 30 years ago.
The skates last featured on television in early December when they were used by Torvill and Dean for their performance on the Royal Variety Show.
The entrepreneurs decided to accept an alternative offer after appearing on BBC’s Dragons' Den and receiving an offer from Theo Paphitis for a stake in the footwear, which create the same sensation as ice skating on other surfaces.
The skates were launched in 2011 and have since been used for training by top professional skaters.
