Staff at a Leytonstone pre-school are celebrating a highly complimentary Ofsted inspection report.

The Leytonstone Community Pre-school, formerly known as The Green Man Pre-School, in Lister Road was rated ‘good’ at the end of last year.

Staff were recognised as delivering a good quality of teaching and having high expectations of their children, as well as being “skilled at providing the activities that effectively support their learning and progress”.

Inspectors said children develop a love of books and reading and are well prepared for the next stage of their learning.

Manager Jane Harris said: “We are especially delighted as it is becoming increasingly more difficult to achieve, as recently the number of providers judged ‘good’ or better fell from 74 per cent to 67 per cent.”
