Residents could lose their right to vote if they fail to return their registration forms by the end of this month.
Epping Forest District Council is currently awaiting 2,500 responses to the forms which were posted to residents in October, November and December.
Council canvassers will be visiting houses to obtain the required information from tomorrow until January 28, if no responses have been received.
The next elections for the district’s residents are the European and local elections in June.
Failure to register may also lead to a fine of up to £1,000.
