21-year-old man question on suspicion of terrorism offences after being arrested at Stansted airport

A man was arrested at Stansted airport on suspicion of terrorism.

The 21-year-old was held on Sunday evening on his return from Instanbul, via Stuttgart.

Scotland Yard said he was suspected of being involved in the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorism.

The man is being questioned at a London police station and police have searched properties in connection with the investigation.

A spokesman said the arrest was not a response to an immediate threat.
