A temporary swimming pool is opening to the public on Friday, two weeks later than planned.
The 12-metre pool, previously used for training at the London Olympics, will be officially opened at 11am, in the grounds of Wanstead Leisure Centre car park in Redbridge Lane West.
The £30,000 pool will be open to the public for 12 weeks and will be used for swimming lessons and general use.
The marquee-style structure of the roof was to blame for the two-week delay, as it was unable to be fitted due to bad weather.
Opening times will be on Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, with sessions costing £2 per person.
