A court date has been set for a murderer who has been on the run since October after escaping from a mental health unit.
Lerone Michael Boye, 27, of no fixed address, appeared at Hendon Magistrates Court today charged with being unlawfully at large.
Police offered a £15,000 reward for information after the convicted killer escaped from a unit in Kenworthy Road, Homerton, on October 16.
Boye was arrested at a house in Elderberry Close, Chigwell, at 4pm yesterday.
He was sentenced to 28 years in prison in December 2012 for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford on August 15, 2011.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on February 4.
