Two cannabis factories were discovered, one in Pedley Road, Goodmayes, and a second in Roding Lane North, Woodford Green.

More than 4,500 officers led a co-ordinated day of action across the capital.

Domestic abuse offences are up by nearly nine per cent across London, with 37,349 offences recorded between April 1 2013 to 12 January 2014, compared with 34,298 in the same period in 2012/13.

MPS lead for Domestic Abuse, Commander Christine Jones said:

"More than 4,500 officers are out in force targeting suspected perpetrators of domestic abuse, whilst raising awareness about domestic abuse and the help that is available.

"It is also a clear statement from the Met that we will not tolerate domestic abuse and we will not allow it to remain hidden, as is so often the case."
