Fly-tipped waste still blocking lane of road.
A pile of waste is still blocking part of a road 48 hours after it was dumped by fly-tippers.
Flytippers dumped the rubbish in The Street, Ongar, between High Ongar Primary School and the junction with the A414, on Tuesday night.
Epping Forest District Council admitted staff had inspected the waste and said it is investigating, but insists it is not responsible for moving the debris.
It claims the county council's highways department is reponsible for the clear-up
A district council spokeswoman said: “If the rubbish is on the verge then we would usually clear it up but this is blocking the highway so we have contacted Essex County Council.”
The county council has been approached for comment.
