A temporary swimming pool has officially opened today.
The 12-metre pool, used for training during 2012 Olympics, has been erected on the grounds of Wanstead Leisure Centre car park in Redbridge Lane West.
The pool was scheduled to open in early January but was delayed due to poor weather conditions.
The heated pool will be open to the public for 12 weeks.
The pool was offically opened by six Redbridge councillors, including council leader Keith Prince, and cabinet member for culture and leisure, councillor Joyce Ellen Ryan.
Cllr Prince said: "We hope that residents take full advantage of this opportunity and enjoy the pool for the next three months."
Opening times on Monday to Friday are 10am until 7pm, and 9am until 1pm on Saturdays.
Sessions will cost £2 per person and the money will be paid to Amateur Swimming Association, the company providing instructors and lifeguard cover.
As part of the London mayor's Olympic legacy initiative, City Hall has provided an undisclosed subsidy towards the project, which has cost Redbridge Council £30,000.
