The number of fires in Waltham Forest and Redbridge have fallen by more than two-thirds since records began a decade ago.
According to new figures released by the London Fire Brigade today, there were 1,772 fires in Waltham Forest in 2003/4, compared to 614 in 2012/13 resulting in a 68 per cent reduction.
Redbridge saw 1,673 fires in 2003/4 compared with 528 last year.
The number of fires in London has fallen by a quarter in the last year and by 64 per cent over the last 10 years.
