Man arrested over school burglary
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a school after a helicopter search in the early hours of yesterday.
Barry John Whittaker, of Mallion Court in Waltham Abbey, is accused of attempting to steal from King Harold Academy in broomstick Hall Road.
Police were called to the school at 12.25am. Cars and helicopters were used in the search, which led to the arrest.
Mr Whittaker is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 11.
