A 30-year-old man who attacked a police officer will be sentenced today.

Aneel Tyrell, of Algers Close in Loughton, was also found guilty of making off from a taxi without paying the £35 bill in court last month.

Mr Tyrell was convicted of both offences despite not guilty pleas.

His case was adjourned from January 3 for a pre-sentence report.
