A celebrity chef is appealing to residents for help to find a foster carer who looked after her at birth.
Chef, author and former model Lorraine Pascale spent the first 18 months of her life in Leytonstone in the care of a woman she believes may have been called Marion.
Now, she is making a BBC Two programme with the working title Lorraine Pascale: The Truth About Fostering and hopes to make contact with the woman who cared for her between 1972 and 1974.
At 18 months, she was adopted by another family and taken to Oxfordshire.
The show’s producers say social care records have drawn a blank and are appealing to the public for help.
When the programme was announced last month Ms Pascale said: “I believe foster care is the Cinderella of the care world and there is far more emphasis put on adoption.
“I’m making this film to throw the spotlight on to fostering and hopefully encourage more people to consider it as an option.”
