Four students are celebrating after gaining places at prestigious Oxbridge universities.

The Middle Sixth Formers at Chigwell School received offers from Oxford and Cambridge last week.

Katie Marshall and Tereza Ruzickova have been offered places at Oxford University.

Miss Marshal will study medicine at Christ Church College and Miss Ruzickova will attend St John’s College to study psychology and philosophy.

Two others have been offered places at Cambridge University.

Marcin Wajs will study natural sciences at Trinity College and Yitian Zhao will study chemical engineering at Magdalene College.

Chigwell School’s learning co-ordinator Chris Lord said: “All of us at Chigwell are delighted by the success of these excellent students.

“All four of them worked very hard over a long period of time to impress these top universities, and fully deserve their places."

Firstly, I am not an idiot, uncalled for.

Secondly, some wealthy people choose to send their children to a State school on some misguided principle, like Paul McCartney.

Finally, some hypocritical lefty champagne socialists send their kids to the best private schools, like Diane Abbott and Tony Bliar.
