An unlicensed taxi driver has been fined after picking up customers outside a nightclub.

Abiodun Dada, 44, of Yellowpine Way, Chigwell, was caught on CCTV operating outside Faces nightclub in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, at 2.20am on January 26.

He was fined £205 and disqualified from driving for 12 months at Barkingside Magistrates Court.

Superintendant Ellie O’Connor said: “At the moment we do not have an operation in place for clamping down on this as it hasn't been a big problem but it is something we are going to look into.”

Was he posing as an unlicensed black taxi, Hackney Carriage or an unlicensed mini-cab? I think this need clarification as if he was pretending to be a black taxi this is far more of a concern. The picture shows a black cab.
