A case involving an escaped murderer from a mental health unit has been transferred to another court.

Convicted killer Lerone Michael Boye, 27, was due to appear at Wood Green Crown Court today but was the case was transferred yesterday to Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Boye will now appear alongside co-defendant Dean Ablakwa, 29, of north London, accused of helping Boye abscond from the John Howard Centre in Homerton on October 16.

Prior to being caught during a planned police operation on January 21, Boye was at large for 100 days and police were offering a £15,000 reward for information as to his whereabouts.

Boye was finally found and arrested at a house in Elderberry Close, Chigwell. 

He was sentenced to 28 years in prison in December 2012 for the fatal stabbing of 17 year-old Kelvin Chibueze outside the Arteflex nightclub in High Road, Ilford, on August 15 2011.

He will appear alongside Ablakwa who denies the charge of assisting an offender to escape, at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 7.
