Fundraisers are desperately seeking a football pitch as their charity game faces an uncertain future.

This year the Loughton Festival is set to include a fierce football battle between the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce and members of the Loughton Restore Church.

However organisers have discovered that they will have a serious dent in collections for their chosen charity, Loughton Foodbank, if they have to pay for a pitch.

Sue Taylor, the Festival Director said: "I had no idea how difficult it was to find a football pitch for a
charity event.

“I have sent out emails and have appealed on Facebook, but so far nobody has come forward to help.

“The reality is that if the men paid the hire fees from their own donations, there would be no point in them playing the game, as there would be very little left to donate to the charity.”

As even public land must be paid for to host the event the organisers fear that there will be nothing left to donate.

The match is set to take place on May 24.

All the men require is a pitch with goal posts, preferably on grass.
