More than 7,000 trees are to be planted throughout February by volunteers to create a man-made wood.
Group Trees for Cities are working with Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure to plant trees at Broadmead Recreation Ground in Navestock Crescent, Woodford Green.
Anyone can help plant the trees from the February 10 to 27 on weekdays between 11am and 3pm, Monday to Thursday.
Jonathan Dean, community, education & volunteer coordinator at Trees for Cities, said: “The new planting will benefit both the local community and wildlife and beautify the space with more colour and interest for the local community to enjoy all year round.”
