A man accused of sending abusive tweets to MP Stella Creasy will appear in court today.

Peter Nunn, 33, of Emersons Green in Bristol, was charged last month with sending malicious communications to Ms Creasy and journalist Caroline Criado-Perez.

The Walthamstow MP and Ms Criado-Perez were subjected to a barrage of online attacks on Twitter last year following a campaign to have author Jane Austen appear on a £10 note.

In January, two Twitter users pleaded guilty to sending menacing tweets to Ms Creasy and Ms Criado-Perez at the height of their campaign.

Appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday, Isobella Sorley, 23 of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne was jailed for 12 weeks and John Nimmo, 25 of Tyne and Wear, was jailed for 8 weeks.

Nunn will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today.
