Auschwitz survivor to speak at local club
An author who survived Auschwitz is to give a public talk tomorrow.
The News From Nowhere Club will welcome Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, who spent two years in the death camp.
Born in Wroclaw, Poland, she was arrested and sent to prison in 1942 before being moved to Auschwitz the next year.
She has written a memoir about her experience called Inherit the Truth.
The club meets for monthly discussions at the Epicentre in West Street, Leytonstone, at 7.30pm for a buffet prior to the talk at 8pm.
