The William Morris Gallery and a residential development in the Olympic Park were both winners at a planning awards ceremony at City Hall this week.

The Forest Road, Walthamstow, gallery was joint winner of the Best Historic Building Management category at the London Planning Awards, along with a restoration project in Roehampton.

East Village, a residential development of almost 3,000 homes in the Olympic Park, scooped the Mayor’s Award for Planning Excellence and Best New Place to Live awards.

The new neighbourhood was recognised for creating a high-quality neighbourhood, setting exemplary standards of design, environment and accessibility while providing the amenities needed to support growing communities.
