A man has had his licence confiscated after admitting drink driving.

Daniel Ryan, 22, of Beamish Close in North Weald, was disqualified from driving for two years and handed a £200 fine after he drove his silver Ford Fiesta into an electricity box in Coronation Hill, Epping, shortly after 11.30pm on New Year’s Day this year.

The civil engineer received the same penalty after pleading guilty to another dribk driving offence on December 21. The bans will run concurrently.

Ryan also admitted failing to stop for a police officer, for which he was fined £50 and got points on his licence, and possession of cannabis, for which he was fined £50.

Chelmsford Magistrates also made him pay costs of £85 when he was sentenced on January 22.
