Arson hearing delayed as accused falls ill
The case of a 21-year-old woman accused of arson was postponed yesterday after she was absent due to illness.
Shaniece Rianne Allen, of Fairlop Road, Leytonstone, is alleged to have burned a bed in Rosebank Ward, a psychiatric facility at Mile End Hospital on December 28.
She is also charged with assaulting Kerry Bradshaw on January 5 and Rasaq Bakare on January 7.
Both incidents are alleged to have also occurred in the hospital.
Allen was due to appear in Thames Magistrates’ Court yesterday but was remanded in custody until Thursday.
