A cyclist is now in a stable condition after his bike was involved in a collision with a car yesterday morning.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, after the accident on Charlie Brown’s roundabout in South Woodford at around 10.20am.

He had been in a critical condition, which police described as life-threatening.

A police spokesman said a woman arrested on suspicion of careless driving was bailed until April.

Last month Transport for London approved plans for crossings and traffic lights to be installed at the roundabout following a series of accidents.
