The National Crime Agency is appealing for information about a fugitive convicted of firearms and drugs offences.

James Tarrant, 58, was arrested in Waltham Abbey in June 2009, where officers found cannabis, blocks of cocaine, a handgun, body armour and about £5,000 in cash.

The Metropolitan Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Command charged Tarrant with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and possession of a loaded handgun and ammunition on December 16 2009.

He was convicted in his absence at Inner London Crown Court and an arrest warrant was issued on May 14, 2010, after he failed to attend court.

A European Arrest Warrant was issued on April 7 2011 and he is now believed to be in The Netherlands.

Police are asking public not to approach him but instead contact police.
