A man will appear in Crown Court later this month charged with six offences including sexual assault, attempted rape and false imprisonment.

Mohamed Mechtak, 34, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 25.

On Monday at Poppleton Road in Leytonstone it is alleged that he sexually assaulted a female, attempted to rape a woman, assaulted a female by penetration and imprisoned a woman against her will.

He is also said to have damaged the wing mirror of a car and, while in nearby Colworth Road, and escaped from lawful custody.
