A school choir won an award at London's oldest music festival.

The Avon House School choir, based in Inmans Row, Woodford Green, scooped the prize in the Primary Religious Songs category at the Stratford and East London Music Festival held at St Mary’s Church, South Woodford last week.

Headteacher Amanda Campbell said: “The children were so excited to return to school with a large silver trophy which will take pride of place in school.”
