A406 North Circular closed in both directions due to police incident at footbridge

A person is reported to have fallen from a footbridge this afternoon.

Police and ambulance services were called to the A406 North Circular at the junction of Cabinet Way in Chingford just after 2.30pm.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance said: "We were called to the scene shortly after 2:30pm today following reports of a person falling from height, ambulance crews remain at the scene."  

The A406 North Circular is closed in both directions between the Cooks Ferry Interchange and the Crooked Billet roundabout in Walthamstow.

Emergency services including an air ambulance are at the scene.

Traffic is congested eastbound from the Kenninghall Interchange to Waterworks roundabout.

The section by the footbridge has been closed since 2:45pm today.
