A group formed in an attempt to protect green belt land from development is to hold its annual general meeting.

The Epping Society is accepting nominations for its committee and will hear from Epping Forest Museum officer, Tony O’Connor at the meeting.

The group has reviewed hundreds of planning applications in the last year and made representations on behalf of its members.

It is also monitoring the development of the Local Plan, which is to see 10,000 homes built in the district in the next 20 years.

Some members have been critical of the council over the amount of brownfield sites identified for development.

The meeting will be held at Epping Hall in St John’s Road at 7pm on March 3.

Members of the public are invited to the meeting which will be held directly after the committee.
