Police have released an e-fit of a man who sexually assaulted a woman after following her from a Tube station.

The attacker approached the victim, who is in her 20s, as she walked in Copperfield, near Trotwood, in Chigwell between 12.30am and 1am.

He grabbed the woman and tried to kiss her, but ran off when he was disturbed by someone walking on the opposite side of the road.

Police are appealing for the passerby, described as in his 20s and wearing a hooded top, to get in touch.

The victim believes her attacker followed her from Hainault Tube station.

He is described as aged between 35 and 45-years-old, of medium build, about 5ft 7ins, with a bald or shaved head.

The attacker was wearing a black coat, spoke with a London accent and smelled heavily of cigarettes.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on February 9, can contact PC Clive Singer at Loughton police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
