Loughton Neighbourhood Action Panel meetings will now be held only four times per year

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: The meetings have been poorly attended The meetings have been poorly attended

Monthly meetings between residents and the police have been scrapped.

The Loughton branch of the Neighbourhod Action Panel (NAP) initiative will now meet only four times per year due to “poor attendance”.

At the last meeting, according to Cllr David Wixley, only two police officers and himself attended.

The Loughton NAP is one of very few in the district run by the police, as most are volunteer-led.

The next NAP meeting has not yet been arranged, although two police surgeries will be held on February 18 and March 18 at Costa in the town.

The lack of attendance is hardly surprising when the police can't even put the correct dates and times (or any dates/times at all) on their website. I've tried repeatedly to get information about other local meetings but get no response from emails. Even actually asking a police officer produced no response.

Think of the savings they will make on less tea, milk and bickies.
