Solar panels could be installed on council offices in a scheme aimed at saving taxpayers' money and cutting the authority's carbon footprint.
A proposal set to be discussed by Epping Forest's District Council's cabinet sets an installation cost of £79,689, which would be paid back in eight years through projected savings and revenue.
The panels would be installed on two of the offices in High Street, Epping - the Civic building and the condor building.
The authority estimates it would cut its carbon footprint by around 23,000kgs per year.
The cabinet is set to make a decision on March 3.
If agreed, planning consent would have to be given and building regulations met before work could be carried out.
