A 14-year-old boy has denied threatening an 11-year-old boy with a knife and robbing him.
The teenager from Enfield, who can’t be named for legal reasons, is accused of carrying a 9cm knife and stealing an iPhone in Brooker Road, Waltham Abbey, shortly before 5.30pm on January 23.
The teenager is also charged with causing criminal damage to police property to the value of £250 on the same day.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday and has been bailed until May 16, when he will return to the court to stand trial.
A 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a knife relating to the same incident and received a nine-month referral order and was ordered to pay costs of £25 and a victim surcharge of £15.
