Pancake races will take place in Waltham Abbey next week.

Waltham Abbey Pancake Races is in its fourth year and organisers are again hoping for a big turnout.

Businesses, parents and children will all be competing in three separate races in Sun Street on pancake day - Tuesday March 4.

The under five’s race will begin at 11am, mum’s dad’s and carers at around 11.30am and a business race at 12 noon.

CSS Motors in Brooker Road won the businesses race last year and will be returning to defend their title this year.

The event is free and racers under the age of five will receive a small prize and winners will get a toy and a trophy.
