A busy stretch of road which runs through Redbridge and Waltham Forest has been found to be one of the most polluted in the country.
The A406 North Circular, which also runs through South Woodford and the Walthamstow/Chingford border, has the 24th highest levels of nitrogen dioxide, according to figures released by the Department for Environment and Rural Affiars (Defra).
In August last year it was revealed the road was the most polluted road in the capital outside central London.
Air pollution can increase asthma levels and affect cardiovascular and other respiratory conditions.
