Pupils at five schools will go head-to- head in a battle-of-the-bands competition.

Nine bands from Wanstead High School, Forest School in Snaresbrook, Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, Chigwell School and Felsted School in Essex will feature.

Bands will include Shockhed, Striker and The Jupiters from Wanstead High School, Epiphany and Last Minute from Bancroft’s, Chigwell All Stars from Chigwell School, Our Last Duchess from Felsted School and Ella and the Lonely Boys and The Drift Kids from Forest School.

The event will be hosted by Forest School on March 8, with 600 people expected to attend.
All proceeds from the event will be split between Capital FM’s Help a Capital Child and Haven House Children’s Hospice in High Road, Woodford Green.

The winning band will meet with high-profile music producers to talk about their experiences.
Year 12 pupil Charlie Donald is organising the event.

He said: “We are aiming to create a truly memorable night. The main reason for this event is charity.

“I've witnessed the amazing work Capital FM does and the great work that Haven House continues to do and I cannot think of two better charities to raise money for.

“The target is 600 people and whilst this is extremely ambitious, the more people that come, the more successful the event will be and the more money that will be raised for charity.”
