A court date has been set for a man accused of several sexual offences.

Mohamed Mechtak, of no fixed address, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday charged with six offences, including sexual assault, attempted rape and false imprisonment.

The 34-year-old is alleged to have sexually assaulted a female, attempted to rape a woman, assaulted a female by penetration and imprisoned a woman against her will.

The inicidents happened in Poppleton Road, Leytonstone on February 10.

He is also accused of criminal damage and escaping from lawful custody.

Mechtak is due to enter a plea at Snaresbrook Crown Court on May 13.
