A van owned by a hospice which was stolen in Hastingwood was recovered in nearby Nazeing, it has emerged.

The vehicle was taken from the car park of St Clare Hospice at around 11pm on Monday.

It was found the next day in Palmers Grove, Nazeing, after it was spotted by a member of the public at around 11am.

No arrests have been made and the police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the van in the 12 hours that it was missing for to come forward.

The van, which is used to deliver stock to its seven charity shops, is emblazoned with the St Clare logo on the side.

The vehicle is still being tested by police and the Hospice estimates it is costing the charity £1,000 every day it is out of use.
