A Labour candidate has been appointed to challenge Iain Duncan Smith at the next general election.
Bilal Mahmood, the new Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Chingford and Woodford Green, will seek to oust the former Conservative leader next year.
Iain Duncan Smith has been MP for the constituency since its creation in 1997.
Mr Mahmood said: "I was born and raised in a single-bedroom flat in the constituency to two wonderful, hardworking people. Both of them came to the UK to toil for stability and prosperity.
"On my parents' behalf, I am honoured and humbled to have been selected as the Labour Party Candidate in the next General Election."
